Bags! Bags! Bags!

When you think of bags what is the first thing that comes into your mind?

That is not as simple a question to answer as one would think.

Firstly, you would have to determine what context the question is being asked.

If the shopping has just been done, then the type of bag that is being referred to would be shopping bags. If you are going out for an appointment, then handbags – or purses as the Americans call it – would be what springs to mind.

Begs another question of how many types of bags are out there? I am not certain, and these are the ones I can think of off the top of my head.

1) Shopping bags

This refers to the cloth bags we use for grocery shopping. They are generally made of cloth, are washable and strong enough to carry the grocery shop. They are reusable.

2) Plastic or carrier bags

These are the ones you receive in shops (sometimes for a fee) to carry your shopping home. The use of these bags can be quite wasteful as they can be used only a few times – once if they get a whole in them – before they are no longer fit for purpose and become landfill.

3) Handbags or Purses

These are used everyday mainly by women – men have their own versions – to carry around things like wallets, make up, hair brushes, toothpaste, toothbrush and anything else that can fit into it.

4) Gym bag

These bags are of a particular size. Small enough not to take up too much space and large enough to fit all the things you need to take to the gym such as a towel, set of clothes to change into, underwear, shoes, toiletries, snacks for pre and post workout.  If you read some recent CrazyBulk D-Bal reviews and decide to invest in it, the gym bag is perfect for that as well! This type of bag usually smells a little, so be careful putting your nice clean clothes into it at the end of training.

In fact, it may be best to have a bag large enough to fit a smaller bag with all your clean clothes.

5) Travel bag

These are a multi purpose bag. Its got to be able to work for an overnight trip as well as a weekend trip. At a push it would be good if the bag can be used for a trip lasting 5 nights. This would be made possible if you purchased an expandable bag and also packed light by not taking 4 different pairs of shoes.

6) Beach bag

As the name suggests this is a bag to be used for taking things to the beach. You can buy specific beach bags, they are usually in stores in Spring time and come in distinctive patterns that remind you of being by the water.

7) Nappy bag

A staple for all parents with children who wear nappies. Their primary use is to carry the essential things a baby would need when they are out of the house, such as nappies, food, bibs, muslin, spare clothes, toys, nappy rash cream etc,

Parents also put in a few essentials of their own, such as house and car keys, as well as their own spare clothes.

These are 7 types of bags I thought of.

They all have one function, which is to carry things, and what you carry would determine the type of bag you would need. After all, you would not carry a beach shovel and spade in your handbag. Or would you?
